A Great Outer Banks Weekend

An amazing weekend on the Outer Banks.

The weather wasnâåÛåªt perfect, but it only threatened to rain and nothing stopped the Parade of Homes, the Mustang Music Festival in Corolla or the Duck Jazz Festival on Sunday.

Hard to say what the highlight of all this was. Becky Kessler, who grew up on the Outer Banks came back with Violent Mae and blew everyone away with how good sheâåÛåªs gotten at the Mustang Music Festival.

The First Flight High School Jazz Band got to jam with the Delfeayo Marsalis Octet, which really put a capper on how good the jazz festival was this year. The kids probably arenâåÛåªt quite as good as Marsalis, but they sounded really good--and the clear excitement was priceless.

In all of this, we canâåÛåªt forget the 21st Annual Parade of Homes. Builders were telling us there is a lot of interest in remodels and new home construction this year. One of the most exciting new construction entries was Vaughn RobinsonâåÛåªs Nags Head beachfront home in Nags Head.

Next door to a traditional Nags Head house his grandparents had owned, Vaughn paid particular attention to creating the same look and feel in a modern six bedroom home. It is in our rental program, so let us know here at Joe Lamb if youâåÛåªre interested.
