Joe Lamb, Jr. Sponsors BBQ Showdown at Taste of Beach

Yes, it's the dead of winter and there's snow on the ground and the warm side of the freezing mark hasn't been seen for a week or more. OK, that's not quite what it's like on the Outer Banks right now since it was a very nice day today, but for our neighbors to the north, that seem to be the reality of the past few weeks.

To help the snowbound envision better times and sunny days, here at Joe Lamb Jr., & Associates & Associates we offer these springtime events.

The big even for the spring has got to be the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach beginning this year on Thursday, March 19 and running through Sunday, March 22. For most places a “Taste of . . .” is an all day affair taking place in a tent or on one street. Not so on the Outer Banks. As much a tour of the towns from Corolla to Manteo it is a four day celebration of the skill and creativity of Outer Banks chefs.

One of the most fun events is the BBQ Showdown the Joe Lamb Jr., & Associates sponsors. Held at the Sea Ranch Resort in Kill Devil Hills on Friday, March 20, it's must participate event.

Adding to the fun this year, the Kelly's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be Sunday, March 15 in Nags Head. For anyone who has never seen Kelly's paean to patron saint of Ireland, it is one of those lifetime experiences that remind us how much fun life can be. Where else, as an example can anyone witness a precision beach chair drill team?

It makes for a perfect week for a springtime getaway, and guests staying with Joe Lamb Jr. the week of Taste of the Beach will receive two free tickets to the BBQ Showdown-plus a Joe Lamb Jr. cooler and T-shirt !

One other springtime event to put in the Outer Banks calendar: the Duck and Wine Festival is April 25. It's a great day on the the Currituck Sound waterfront. Hosted by the Waterfront Shops in Duck, the Festival brings some of the finest chefs and restauranteurs together to prepare duck in a myriad of different styles then pair that with wine.
