Our goal at JLJ is to offer courteous, competent and professional property management services to Outer Banks property owners and their tenants. We expect our employees to strive to reach this goal.

JLJ specializes in providing premier property management to property owners. Operating for almost 50 years, with over 550 vacation rental properties, we have the experience and knowledge to maintain your property properly and efficiently. Our staff of over 30 members work together as a team and maintain an atmosphere of family care and provide genuine individual attention to our home owners and guests. Our reservations and guest services team is trained in all aspects of customer service and are available to answer any questions regarding your property to inquiring future guests.

3) Accelerated and Effective Marketing Strategies.

We understand our local tourism trends and know how to keep your property at the top of the list during peak times and ahead of the competition during shoulder seasons. In addition to the exposure your home will receive through our travel site affiliates, your property will be marketed to our loyal website subscribers and social media followers. We run local radio ads and advertise in regional and national travel publications, both in print and online. We also maintain an extensive email database of all past and potential guests to offer promotional specials. Because of our extensive marketing department our properties enjoy a consistent occupancy rate at the top of the market.

Our website is completely interactive and user friendly, and is positioned at the top of all major search engines. Each property has its own individual web page, consisting of interior and exterior photos, floor plans and an in-depth property description followed by a full list of amenities and rental rates. The availability calendar is updated in real-time so your guests have the opportunity to make online booking or inquiries 24 hours, 7 days a week.

4) Actively Participating in the Industry.

JLJ stays on top of industry trends with an active membership in NCVRMA (North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association). We are also very involved in our local Chamber of Commerce and members of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Hampton Roads.

6) Designing a personalized and flexible management plan.

We tailor our level of management to your needs. The appearance and comfort of your home is of paramount importance to us. We offer full-service property maintenance and housekeeping. All of our maintenance technicians are private contractors and insured, our housekeepers are also members of the Vacation Rental Housing Association. Here at JLJ we run a preventative maintenance program, quick response times and post tenancy dual purpose inspections. A well-maintained home can mean the difference between a nice Outer Banks vacation and the Outer Banks Vacation of your Guest Dreams which in turn can help foster the Rental Season of your Dreams!

7) Communicating effectively with your Guest.

We provide guests with a detailed Welcome Packet, upon arrival. This packet includes proper pool/hot tub instructions, internet passcodes, trash day details, AC policies and a comprehensive detailed check out list. We have a hotline to handle any and all maintenance or housekeeping issues that is available 24 hours, seven days a week for our guests. It is our policy to handle any issues promptly and efficiently. We keep our owners up to date on their rental properties through consistent emails and newsletter communication.

8)Implementing successful policies derived from years of experience

We pride ourselves in keeping your home looking good and operating well. In order to do this we implement a variety of policies to ensure that our guests regard your property with the utmost respect. We adhere to your guidelines set in your rental agreement that is signed by your future guest. We follow strict rules and regulations when booking your home, in an effort to attract only the most courteous of temporary tenants. We also help our quests get acquainted with the local neighborhood before they book your home, so they know what to expect when they arrive. We also follow through with consequences out lined in our agreements and hold our guests to a higher standard of respect when it comes to your home.
