A New Outer Banks Home
Joe Lamb, Jr. and Associates is enjoying its new home at
milepost 2.7, 4607 N. Croatan Highway in Kitty Hawk, ¾ mile
south of their 25-year location on the bypass.
According to Joe Lamb, Jr., founder of Joe Lamb, Jr. and Associates, "We had simply become too crowded. Customers and vendors were struggling to find a place to park, and checking in guests during peak season had become a challenge. We expect our guests, owners and vendors – as well as our staff – will be more comfortable in the new more spacious building." Dan Hardy, President and General Manager of Joe Lamb, Jr. and Associates, notes that, "We expect to continue offering the personal attention we are proud of giving all our clients."
Joe and his wife Ann began renting vacation cottages in 1968. Their first office was located at milepost 11.5 on the beach road. The following year they moved about half a mile north to a location beside what is now Tortuga's Lie. To keep up with the growth of the company, in 1984 Joe Lamb, Jr. and Associates moved to their office at milepost 2 on the bypass – where they provided rental and sales services for 25 years. Joe Lamb recalls, "We started with only 18 cottages. Today we have more than 550 vacation rentals, several commercial properties, and, of course, properties for sale."
Joe also remarked, "During the last 40 years I have
seen our company, the real estate business, and this beach
undergo many changes. It's important to remember, though,
the reason people vacation never changes. People come to
the beach to get away from stress, to spend time with friends
and family, and to enjoy the beauty and hospitality we offer
here on the Outer Banks. We understand the importance of
a person's vacation and have carefully selected a wide variety
of rental homes to fit many needs and budgets."
