Mail and Packages
Any mail should be addressed to you c/o our office address and include the rental property ID number.

What to do on Check-Out Day
You are expected to leave the home undamaged, clean and ready for the next arrival. The following must also be completed:
- Wash and put away all dishes.
- Remove all food and trash from home.
- Place trash in proper receptacle and roll containers to the edge of the street.
- Wipe appliances, counters, etc. clean of excess spills
- Sweep carpets and floors.
- Make all beds.
- Properly arrange all furniture.
- Clean wood fireplace or grill if used.
- Rental items should be bundled and placed according to the instructions of the company from which they were rented.
- Set thermostat to 75 degrees in Summer; in Winter set at 60 degrees.
- Make sure all doors and windows are locked and lights are turned off.
- Vacate property on the last day of your stay by 10:00 am.
- The keys and linens rented from JLJ must be returned to our office or at such locations designated by us. For after hours, a key drop is available on the outside of the return location.
Recycling the Outer Banks
Please recycle if at all possible. We appreciate your making the special effort for protect our fragile environment. Rinse all containers.

Duck – Pick-up service on MONDAYS - Recycle bins/cans are provided - put container out the night before.
Southern Shores – Pick-up service on MONDAYS - Recycle bins/cans are provided - put container out the night before.
Kitty Hawk – Drop off center open Monday, Thursday, and Saturday - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Directions to Kitty Hawk recycling: Turn west on West Kitty Hawk Road, across from the Kitty Hawk Post Office (approx. 4 milepost), follow West Kitty Hawk Road then turn left on Bob Perry Road there will be a small brown sign saying RECYCLE and an arrow pointing left on the shoulder of roadway. Stay on Bob Perry Road,the recycle center is on the right . There is also a Public Boat ramp and picnic area.
Kill Devil Hills – Located at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard.
To get to Kill Devil Hills recycling center: Turn right on Ocean Bay Boulevard if you are coming from the north. Turn left if coming from the south at the Kangaroo gas station. The center is on the left about one-half mile.
Nags Head – There are three locations in Nags Head.
- Public Works Facility - 2200 Lark Avenue. This is the road on the west side of the bypass by T. W's Bait and Tackle Shop
- Nags Head Town Hall – 5410 South Croatan Hwy, Milepost 14.7. Close to the Outer Banks Mall
- Huron Street Beach Access - Milepost 17
Laundry Tips
Be sure to shake sand/rocks from the items to be laundered, preferably outside the vacation home. Do not put plastic, rubber, or rubber backed items in the dryer. Always clean lint filter in dryer before drying clothes. Always unplug irons. Never iron on carpets, beds or counter tops. Never leave irons unattended.
