Bulletin 1

Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 7am:

-A mandatory hurricane evacuation and state of emergency are in effect for all of the Outer Banks including Hatteras Island, all of Dare County, Corolla and Carova. We are not sure when this evacuation order will be lifted and advise all visitors to follow the Dare County Emergency Manage Alert System. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 1 pm:

-Hurricane Florence continues to be a threat for the east coast. As of now many stores have closed such as, Walmart, Harris Teeter, PNC Bank, ACE Hardware and more. Our office will be closing at the end of the day today. We will continue to do storm prep tomorrow for our home owners and for our personal residents. -Wednesday, September 12, 2018 8 am: 

Hurricane Florence continues to be a threat for the east coast, early models for Wednesday showed it could stall upon reaching the Carolina coast and make a slight shift south toward South Carolina once it makes landfall.  Our office will be closing at 12:00 Noon today to finish up the final preparations for our home owners.  Please follow updates here:  National Weather Service and here: Twitter NCDOT

Wednesday, September 12, 11 am:

Please be Advised: Restricted access into Dare County will begin at 7 pm Wednesday the 12th. There will be no restrictions on those leaving but you will not be allowed to enter Dare County after 7pm on Wednesday the 12th of September.

-Please be advised that the mandatory evacuation for visitors to the Outer Banks will be lifted beginning at 7:00 am Sunday, September 16 for areas north of Oregon Inlet. If you were scheduled to arrive on Saturday, September 15, you may go directly to your vacation accommodation once you arrive on the beach or stop by our office when we open at 9:00 am Sunday morning. For those scheduled to arrive on Sunday, September 16 your check-in time will be at 4):00 pm and not before. There will be no early check-ins on Sunday so please plan your trip accordingly.
