How Partial Week Rentals Work
Joe Lamb Jr. & Associates offers a selection of Outer Banks vacation rentals that may be available for partial week stays during select dates throughout the year.
- A 3-night minimum is required for all partial week stays.
- Partial week stays are typically 3 or 4 nights.
- Stays of 5 or 6 nights are considered full-week rentals for pricing purposes.
- Availability, dates, rates, and property participation may vary.

Partial Week Rental Guidelines
Partial Week Rental Availability
Partial week stays are available during specific rental periods and only at participating properties. Some homes may offer extended availability, so always review the individual listing details before making your reservation.
- January 1 through May 3, with some properties extending availability through May 24.
- October 17 through December 21, with a limited number of properties allowing reservations as early as September 26.
- Holiday weeks, including Good Friday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, are excluded from partial week stays.
General Rental Guidelines
- All homes can be reserved in weekly increments.
- Odd-numbered homes, such as 1, 3, 5, and so on, rent Saturday to Saturday.
- Even-numbered homes, such as 2, 4, 6, and so on, rent Sunday to Sunday.
- During approved partial week rental periods, arrival and departure days are flexible.
- For all other dates, partial week rentals are accepted starting the Monday of any given week, and departure must align with the normal designated turnover day.
Adding Extra Nights to Your Stay
In some cases, guests may be able to add extra nights to an existing stay. Extra-night availability depends on the property, rental calendar, and timing of the request.
- Before your stay: Additional nights can be added on the Monday before you arrive at a prorated rate.
- After your stay: Additional nights may be added on a prorated basis on the Wednesday of your reservation week.
- Extra nights cannot be added during peak season, which runs from the first weekend in May through the end of Columbus Day week in October.
Important Policies for Partial Week Rentals
When making your reservation request, please keep the following policies in mind:
- Minimum Stay: A 3-night minimum is required for all partial week stays.
- Rates & Availability: Prices, amenities, and available dates are subject to change.
- Rental Agreement: A signed rental agreement is required for all reservations.
- Advance Payment: For reservations less than 45 days away, the advance rent payment is due within 24 hours.
- Extended Availability: Some properties offer extended dates for partial week stays.
