This spacious home combines the best and most up to date features w/ traditional Outer Banks charm boasting ample living areas for your entire group, including a living/dining area combination, separate wet bar/butler’s pantry with ice maker and dishwasher, and large kitchen w/ island bar seating. The cottage retains the original pine flooring, tongue and groove paneling and exposed beam ceilings.
The “Small Family Cottage” was designed by Frank Stick, renowned writer/illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post, Ladies Home Journal, and Field & Stream. He was an early real estate developer and conservationist here on the Outer Banks in the early 1940’s when the area was first beginning to flourish. Small Family Cottage is a unique and wonderful vacation home on the beach, Really felt like a home and the cottage is the best equipped place we have ever stayed. Such fun to learn the history of this house.

You can't beat the deck on this house. The whole family (12 of us) spent every night outside playing games. This is a historical home with many updates but it has retained the original charm.
