27 years of renting different ocean front houses from Duck to South Nags Head. This is the very best one. Everything worked, was clean, comfy beds, big tv’s in every room, hot tub, gazebo, spacious living room, an ice machine that cranked out ice. Couldn’t get any better with the nice covered porch for viewing sunsets and walkway on the beach side. No bugs of any kind. Would definitely like to rent this place again one day…

We love Phelps - it's a great location and a very comfortable house for us... it's just the two of us, but we enjoy having room to spread out... the gazebo is our favorite place - I can sit in the sun and my husband can read in the shade. The views are gorgeous - I like being higher up off the ocean. Phelps is well taken care of and beautifully stocked with whatever cooking, serving or dining utensils imaginable. Everything is clean and neat - and I work hard to keep it that way - on general principle and out of respect and gratitude to the owners and Joe Lamb. The new washer/dryer was fabulous! This is the first year we were able to come home with clean clothes!
This is our second year at the property and we've already made our advance reservation for next year... thank you to the owners and to Joe Lamb for making our beach vacation so comfortable... it feels like we are in a second home when we're in Nags Head...
Speaking of which - we are so glad that the Outer Banks was spared from the brunt of Florence - our prayers go out to those down south...
