This unit by far what is the nicest of the past dozen that we have rented. Clean, upgraded, well designed with a huge assortment of kitchen ware! The technology does unit for surpassed any others with Apple TV controllers throughout the home. Location location location, we took our E bikes and had plenty of paths to safely ride. The grounds were perfectly manicured and beautiful. The interior was tastefully done. The Pergola and lounge chairs around the pool made for a great setting. Very clean grill was a plus! We've already reserved it for 2026!!!

Very comfortable home and well maintained. It has everything you need for large family groups and all age groups. Bedrooms are comfortable (and very happy that owner placed TV's in all rooms this year!) and private bathrooms. The pool and hot tub are a bonus and we loved our family time there and at the nearby beach access too. I would highly recommend this home.

Beautiful home! Extremely clean, nice furnishings, very bright, comfortable beds and the pool area is top notch. We have been renting in the Outer Banks for 12 years. We LOVED our stay at Independence!! It is very close the Curlew walkway so it is a very easy/safe walk to the beach. The pool area was amazing and very relaxing!! We look forward to and hope to stay at this property again.

Our family made a search in 2010 for vacation rental that met our needs. The South Memorial area had been recommended by a vacationing acquaintance as being family friendly with low traffic. So as the real-estate cliche; location, location, location; the Independence (198) with the amenities met our needs. Ideal location on the OBX for fishing, shopping and restaurants. The Independence had the number bedrooms we needed; an elevator and handicap room/bath for aging parents; game room for entertainment of the youngsters; and the best pool we have seen on the OBX which has the afternoon sun exposure for the sun bathers. How satisfied, this was our eleventh straight year at the Independence and we have submitted our pre reservations request for the same week in 2022!!!

Location, location, location on South Memorial between the high traffic roads and in Nags Head area.

For large families, ample bedrooms with TV, private bathroom and balcony. Plus elevator, handicap bathroom, excellent pool and patio area with afternoon sun exposure. Our choice for the last consecutive 9 years and will be for the future.
