Our family made a search in 2010 for vacation rental that met our needs. The South Memorial area had been recommended by a vacationing acquaintance as being family friendly with low traffic. So as the real-estate cliche; location, location, location; the Independence (198) with the amenities met our needs. Ideal location on the OBX for fishing, shopping and restaurants. The Independence had the number bedrooms we needed; an elevator and handicap room/bath for aging parents; game room for entertainment of the youngsters; and the best pool we have seen on the OBX which has the afternoon sun exposure for the sun bathers. Location, location, location on South Memorial between the high traffic roads and in Nags Head area.
