Southern Shores Civic Association

ENJOY THE Benefits OF BEING A MEMBER

Southern Shores spans 4.2 miles with no public access to the beach,  so renting a home that belongs to the SCCA is ideal. The Southern Shores Civic Association is a private, non-profit, community civic association that has been managing and preserving green spaces since 1976.  Since access to the beach in Southern Shores is limited, the pass provided for guests of homes that are members can park at Hillcrest Beach which is  between 8th and 9th avenues, and have access to parks and recreations areas throughout the town.

Parking at SSCA-owned properties is by permit only. Parking on designated town streets is not allowed.  As a member of SSCA for the week you will be provided a parking pass that must be in your car window at all times when parked at community parks and recreation areas.  Some areas are reserved only for residents with town passes.

The Town of Southern Shores has many walking/bike paths and trails including longer pathways located along Highway 12 and S. Dogwood Trail. The town urges bicyclists and pedestrians to use these paths for safe and relaxing travel. SSCA also makes sure to provide many green spaces to facilitate recreational activities.
