Beach Nourishment

Beach nourishment projects are necessary for preserving our community. Currently, beach nourishment activities are occurring in Nags Head and South Nags Head. Follow along with the progress by visiting https://www.darenc.gov/government/beach-nourishment/upcoming-projects.

Future projects are planned for Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills in 2027. Depending on the timing and location of your stay, beach conditions, access, project activities may vary and are subject to change without notice.

This beachfront home was perfect for our family vacation. We traveled with a three-month-old and a four-year-old. Location was great and close to many restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, etc. The beachfront deck and chairs were amazing! Made vacationing at a beach with a baby a wonderful experience. They could nap while we still got to enjoy the beach views and sounds. We loved staying here and had a wonderful experience overall.

This is a lovely home that is very clean. Potential guests should be aware that there is little privacy in the upstairs master suite because it is a loft area that does not have a wall separating it from the living area (only half shutters)

The people who bought it after her death did a wonderful job of renovating it. Now with the new owners, there are some changes, but it's still like going home--so many good memories there. My son and I very much enjoyed our week here. I have been going to this same place off and on for 65 years. It was built in 1950 by my husband's aunt; there is a framed picture there of what it looked like. The people who bought it in 1981, did a wonderful job of renovating it and have made many more improvements over the years! For me, it's like going home!
