Duck Jazz Festival Coming October 12 & 13

It's never too early to start thinking about the Duck jazz Festival.

Yes it's free, so there's no need to buy tickets, but if there is one Outer Banks music festival to check out the Duck Jazz Festival

Held Columbus Day Weekend every year, the man events are on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. and filling up the afternoon until the headliner Leroy Jones Quintet takes the stage at 5:00 p.m.

The setting? It doesn't get any better than the Duck Jazz Festival.

The town of Duck's park is as beautiful a village green as there could be. There are stages in the park, making it possible for performance to always be happening.

The Main Stage, on the beautiful village green, could not be more perfect, with the grassy hill for seating that holds the sound in and keeps the audience close enough to the performers that it feels almost intimate.

Under the shade of towering pines, the Duck Amphitheater is a full stage with seating that is ideal for interaction with the audience.

Looking over the music that will be on stage, it's pretty impressive, bu the Leroy Jones Quintet promises something truly special. Jones has been championing the traditional music of New Orleans for years—he grew up there—and his impeccable trumpet style frames the music perfectly.

Saturday night check out some of the Duck night spots. The musicians are in town, and a lot of them are looking for a place to jam.

Next weekend, October 12 and 13. Don't miss it.

Fall is an amazing time to visit the Outer Banks. Stay with us at Joe Lamb, Jr. & Associates for a few days a discover how wonderful life is by the sea.
