Everyone knows the Outer Banks is a vacation paradise, but over the past few years, it has also developed a national reputation as a great place to get married. Which is why the Outer Banks Wedding Expo this past weekend hosted so many vendors and visitors.
It has become an annual event, and as this type of show goes, itâåÛåªs a lot of fun. You could eat yourself fat very easily since just about every restaurant, caterer and confectioner is there . . . all with samples and they are certainly offering only their best.
There are also musicians playing, beauty makeovers and a wonderful sense of the Outer Banks as a great place for a special event.
The business of weddings–and special event marketing, because the market is evolving in that way–has become a huge part of the Outer Banks economic picture. It is one of the most important, if not the most important, reasons for the growth of the shoulder seasons.
What is remarkable in walking around the booths . . . and with 180 vendors, there is a lot of walking to do . . . is how diverse and professional the businesses are. A great time, yes–but itâåÛåªs also about business and the Outer Banks owners present themselves remarkably well.
