The Wedding Expo is coming up this weekend--Saturday and Sunday. ItâåÛåªs a pretty big deal, although IâåÛåªm not sure if itâåÛåªs still âåÛåÏWeddingâåÛå as much as itâåÛåªs become âåÛåÏEventâåÛå. Either way weddings or events have become huge business on the Outer Banks.
The Expo is a lot of fun . . . well, itâåÛåªs a lot of fun if youâåÛåªre not getting married or planning a large gathering of the clan. Caterers, restaurants and food vendors are all putting out their absolute best and itâåÛåªs a good idea to show up with an empty stomach and a clean palate.
The booths can be pretty interesting. Some of the larger event planners create mini scenes for the visitors, just about everyone seems to be in a good mood and it really is two very enjoyable days.
Of course for anyone who is looking to book an event or wedding planner, it does tend to be work, and a lot of it. But the food is good and there are occassional sips of wine and beer. Not a bad way to spend two days.
The Outer Banks Wedding Association Wedding Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday January 18 and 19 at the First Flight Middle School and First Flight High School. There is a $20 fee.
