Winter Weather But OBX Taste of the Beach Coming Soon

Ice on low-hanging branches at Kitty Hawk Bay.All things being relative, we probably shouldn't complain too much about the Outer Banks weather right now, but it is cold out there. Admittedly compared to Boston, we're not buried in snow-in fact, there's bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. It would be a perfect day if the wind wasn't holding steady at 25 mph and the temperatures struggling to reach the high 20s.It is President's Day Weekend, and a lot of the restaurants that take four or six weeks off are reopening. And by mid March almost everyone will be ready for the new season . . . just in time for the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach, coming up March 19-22. As much a tour of the Outer Banks as an amazing way to experience the skill and creativity of local chefs, the Taste of the Beach is a not to be missed event.Joe Lamb Jr. & Associates is the sponsor for the BBQ & WINGS Showdown on Friday at the Sea Ranch in Kill Devil Hills. Last year's competition featured some of the best barbecue we've ever had, and this year there promises to be more restaurants and even better bbq and wings. For our visitors staying with Joe Lamb Jr., & Associates for the week of the Taste of the Beach, we are including two free adult tickets to the Showdown – plus a Joe Lamb Jr., & Associates Cooler and T-shirt.
